A word from the president
“Exclusively dedicated to brass music, The Limoux Brass Festival is the direct legacy of its harmony orchestra, La Lyre de Limoux, a centuries-old tradition of the city. This tenth edition confirms the international musical influence of the Festival, bringing together world-renowned musicians from the brass world.
The Festival illustrates the importance of brass music more broadly in the south-west of France, a wine-growing region halfway between the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees, with a historical heritage rich in numerous castles and spectacular landscapes.
2018 will also be an opportunity to develop actions in the continuity of previous editions, contributing to the discovery of new talents and participating in the promotion of their careers in France, Europe and abroad, by allowing the discovery of brass music to students of all levels and backgrounds; and finally, supporting the unique project of practicing music in the protected environment of a psychiatric hospital. ”
